Power Plate Studio

  • Power Plate machines use the principles of Acceleration Training™ to stimulate the body’s natural responses to vibration, improving blood circulation and increasing muscle strength and flexibility.

We have five Power Plates that are free for members to use. We also run a pay-as–you-go Power Plate studio for those who would like additional support and guidance. Power Plate equipment simulates the body's natural response to vibration. Scientific research has shown that by using the Power Plate for even a short period of time you can increase strength and flexibility, as well as see noticeable improvements to your metabolism and circulation. The body has to subconsciously contract a variety of different muscles in order to stay balanced during the vibrations created by the Power Plate.

It is precisely this constant muscle tensioning that makes the equipment so effective. Being non impact and incredibly gentle on the joints and tendons, it is suitable for almost everyone.

Wobble Your Way to Slimness

Daily Mail - Scientists at the University of Antwerp in Belgium studied the effects of using a Power Plate in a group of overweight or obese people – mostly women. The subjects were given the same dietary advice then split into three groups. One group did no exercise for six months while another did aerobic activity, such as swimming and aerobics, three times a week.

The final group used a Power Plate for around 13 minutes a day, five days a week. After six months, the diet-only group lost six percent of their body weight, the aerobic exercise group seven per cent and the vibration group 11 per cent. The biggest improvements came in the loss of fat around the organs. The vibration group lost almost two-thirds more than the aerobic group and more than double the amount lost by the dieters.
